Raised in Srinagar's Farooqi dynasty, a 70 year Shopian poet has compiled a book of poetry comprising of Naths and Gazals.

Ghulam Rasool Shah, a resident of Chitterwach village of Shopian has unpublished book of poetry which he wants to publish before his death.

He said that he wrote his first poem when new construction of famed shrine of Hazatbal Srinagar was started by the government.

"I have 30 pages of poetry mostly Naths which has not published yet due to economical circumstances and the responsibility of family," Ghulam Rasool Shah told.

He said that having no son of his own, he wants to publish poetry to make a contribution to the Kashmir culture." I have only two daughters, if I had a son he would have seen any source of publication, " he added.
