Srinagar 7th September Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society as part of its continued IEC campaign under the directions of Shri, Atal Dulloo, IAS, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir for the Sensitization of Religious leaders on the COVID-19 and the measures to be taken to avoid the spread of the Virus. The campaign has been launched across the J&K with the support of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for Kashmir; Divisional Commissioner Jammu for Jammu Division.
Todays programme was carried out at Markazi Darul Uloom Doodhwan, Kupwara, Kashmir, for the Ulamas, Mufti’s, & Molanas of District Kupwara, Kashmir as desired by the Project Director, Jammu & Kashmir AIDS Control Society, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather.
At the outset, Moulana Abdul Aziz Qureshi, gave the welcome address and thanked Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society for conducting such type of awareness programme which is the need of the hour.
Dr. Mohammad Ramzan Wani, District Tuberculosis Officer, Kupwara gave a detailed information about the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on human body and how the transmission can be stopped with strict adherence to the social distancing & wearing of masks during the gatherings at the religious places.
Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Assistant Director, Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society highlighted the impact of the proper dissemination of the information on COVID-19 to the masses and the effective role that the religious leaders can play for curbing the pandemic.
Moulana Mohammad Iqbal Qasimi, gave the vote of thanks and thanked all the participants for sparing the time to make the campaign a success.
