Tehsil Administration Keegam Distributes Essential Relief to Nomadic Families

Blankets and tarpaulins provided at Rambiar-a, Sindoo and Shirmal to support vulnerable communities during harsh winter

Syrier Dar,

Keegam, January 24: In view of the prevailing cold weather conditions and to ensure the welfare of vulnerable sections of society, the Tehsil Administration Keegam on Friday distributed essential commodities among nomadic families residing in Rambiar-a, Sindoo and Shirmal areas of the tehsil.

The relief distribution drive focused on providing blankets and tarpaulins to nomadic households, many of whom are currently living in temporary shelters and are highly exposed to extreme winter conditions. The initiative was undertaken as part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to extend timely assistance to marginalized communities, particularly during the peak winter season.

Officials of the Tehsil Administration personally visited the identified locations to assess ground realities and ensure that the relief reached the genuine beneficiaries. During the distribution, priority was given to elderly members, women, and children, keeping in view their increased vulnerability to cold-related hardships. The administration also interacted with the nomadic families, listened to their concerns, and assured them of continued support during the winter months.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the administration for the timely assistance, stating that the blankets and tarpaulins would provide much-needed protection against the biting cold and snowfall. Many families highlighted the difficulties they face due to limited access to basic amenities and welcomed the administration’s proactive outreach.

Officials stated that the welfare of nomadic and migratory communities remains a priority for the district administration. They emphasized that such relief measures are aimed not only at addressing immediate needs but also at ensuring dignity, safety, and well-being of these communities during challenging weather conditions.

The Tehsil Administration Keegam also appealed to the public and local stakeholders to cooperate with the authorities in identifying families in need so that assistance can be extended without delay. It was further informed that similar relief drives will continue in other vulnerable pockets of the tehsil as and when required.

This humanitarian initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and its resolve to stand with the most vulnerable sections of society during times of adversity, ensuring that no one is left behind amid harsh winter conditions.
