SSP Shopian Reviews Security Arrangements Ahead of Republic Day 2026

Inter-agency coordination, heightened vigilance, and public safety take center stage during high-level security meeting

Shopian, January 10: Ahead of the Republic Day 2026 celebrations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian, Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the Conference Hall of District Police Office (DPO) Shopian on Friday.

The SSP conducted an in-depth assessment of the prevailing security scenario and preparedness measures to ensure peaceful, incident-free, and dignified Republic Day celebrations across the district. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Police, Army, CRPF, and representatives of other sister security agencies.

Key discussions revolved around deployment strategies, area domination, intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination, protection of vulnerable points, access control measures, and traffic management plans.


 
Emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and proactive policing, SSP Shopian directed all personnel to intensify patrolling and remain alert to thwart any attempts at disrupting public peace. He further stressed the importance of seamless coordination, real-time information sharing, and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while also ensuring public convenience and boosting citizen confidence.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all participating agencies to work in close coordination to ensure that the Republic Day 2026 celebrations in District Shopian remain peaceful, secure, and dignified.
