ADC Shopian Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz unfurls National Flag, inspects parade; officers and citizens participate enthusiastically

SHOPIAN: As part of the preparations for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, a full-dress rehearsal was held today at the District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, unfurled the National Flag, took the salute and inspected the parade. The march-past comprised contingents of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, J&K Police Women’s Contingent, Home Guards and Forest Protection Force, reflecting discipline, coordination and national pride.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC said that Republic Day is celebrated in honour of the brave souls who worked selflessly and laid down their lives for the nation. He emphasized that the occasion serves as a reminder of the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold the ideals and values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shopian, Shakoor Ahmad Dar, and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shopian, Rameez Rashid, were present as Guests of Honour on the occasion.
Senior officers of the district administration, along with officials and citizens, attended the rehearsal, marking the event as a significant step towards ensuring a dignified and smooth celebration of Republic Day in the district.
