New initiative aligns with PM Modi’s Orange Economy vision; aims to empower one crore youth and generate ₹5,000 crore in economic activity
New Delhi, January 10: In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to recognise, nurture, and promote digital content creators, Prasar Bharati on Friday launched “Creator’s Corner”, a dedicated platform on DD News to showcase content created by digital creators from across the country.
Speaking at the launch event, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed transformative reforms across all sectors over the past eleven years, with similar reform-oriented changes now underway in Prasar Bharati.
The Minister announced that 2026 will mark a year of major reforms for Prasar Bharati, alongside comprehensive restructuring within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. These reforms, he said, will orient institutions such as Doordarshan and All India Radio towards greater industry participation, integration of new-generation creators, and technology-driven workflows. He described the launch of Creator’s Corner as the first milestone in this reform journey.
Referring to the WAVES platform launched last year, Shri Vaishnaw noted that it has emerged as a game changer for the creator economy, with the potential to empower one crore youth, create new employment opportunities, and generate nearly ₹5,000 crore in economic activity.

Addressing the gathering, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, said that Creator’s Corner reflects the Prime Minister’s vision for the Orange Economy, which places creativity and digital innovation at the core of economic growth. He highlighted that creators from small towns and remote regions are independently producing, editing, and distributing content, building livelihoods without access to large studios. He said Doordarshan will now provide these creators a strong national and global platform, and congratulated the DD News team for the initiative.
Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju, said the initiative will help build a vibrant, responsible, and inclusive creator ecosystem, recognising creators not merely as performers but as complete content producers. He informed that Creator’s Corner, currently launching on DD News, will gradually expand to all Doordarshan channels, offering creators from diverse languages, regions, and genres a national platform. He added that the programme’s dedicated prime-time slot will help creators reach wider audiences while enriching public broadcasting with fresh perspectives.
