Programme held at MMIS Heepora Batagund focuses on building entrepreneurial and managerial skills among local youth
A total of 22 candidates completed the programme, including 19 male and three female participants, reflecting inclusive participation and a growing interest in entrepreneurship among Shopian’s youth. The programme was designed to equip trainees with essential knowledge and skills required to establish and manage sustainable business ventures.
The MDP covered a wide range of topics, including entrepreneurship development, business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, government schemes for entrepreneurs, and essential soft skills. The training sessions were conducted through interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and activity-based learning to ensure practical exposure and real-world understanding.
On the concluding day, Senior Manager JKEDI, Nafia Nazir, visited the training venue and interacted with the participants. She reviewed the overall training framework and appreciated the conduct and outcomes of the programme. Encouraging the trainees, she urged them to transform their business ideas into viable enterprises and actively utilise various entrepreneurship promotion schemes offered by the government.
District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Shopian, Sayeem Rafiq, also addressed the participants and highlighted the institute’s role in promoting entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. He assured continued mentoring, guidance, and handholding support to the trainees in their entrepreneurial journey.
The participants expressed satisfaction over the quality and relevance of the training and thanked JKEDI for providing them with an opportunity to enhance their managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
The programme concluded on an optimistic note, with renewed motivation among the trainees to pursue self-employment and contribute to economic growth and employment generation in the district.
