District Administration Shopian Marks Phase-II of 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’

 


CEO Shopian Highlights Historical and Patriotic Significance of the National Song

Shopian, January 19: The District Administration Shopian on Monday organized the inaugural function of Phase-II of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram” at the Auditorium Hall of Government Degree College (GDC), Shopian.

The programme, held under the aegis of the district administration, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, officers from various departments and representatives of civil society.

Chief Education Officer (CEO), Shopian, Bashir Ahmed Shah, attended the function as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, the CEO highlighted the historical importance of “Vande Mataram” and underscored its vital role in inspiring generations during India’s freedom struggle. He stated that the national song symbolizes unity, sacrifice and the collective spirit of the nation, and continues to instill a sense of patriotism among the youth.

The event featured a series of cultural performances, including patriotic songs, speeches and other cultural items, reflecting the rich heritage and emotional significance of the national song. The performances created an atmosphere of national pride and unity.

Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Shopian, Suhail Ahmed, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Ajaz Ahmed, along with officers of various line departments, teaching staff and prominent citizens of the district were present on the occasion.

The programme witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty, reaffirming the collective commitment towards nurturing patriotism and national values.
