Popular educator says his mother decides treatment rates; AI-enabled diagnostics to reduce errors and make healthcare affordable
Patna: Renowned educator and social media figure Khan Sir has announced an ambitious and unconventional healthcare initiative in Patna, aiming to provide ultra-affordable medical services to the public. Highlighting his commitment to accessible healthcare, Khan Sir revealed that common diagnostic tests such as blood tests will cost as little as ₹7, while ECG tests will be available for just ₹25 at his proposed hospital projects.
Speaking about the initiative, Khan Sir said the hospital’s pricing structure would not be driven by profit but by compassion and public welfare. In a statement that has since drawn widespread attention, he remarked, “My mother decides the rates,” underscoring that the charges are determined with the needs of the poor and middle-class families in mind.
According to Khan Sir, the hospitals will heavily rely on AI-enabled machines for diagnostics and routine procedures. He said advanced technology would help in early and accurate detection of diseases, reduce the chances of human error, and significantly cut operational costs, allowing patients to receive quality healthcare at minimal prices.
“Most procedures will be done using AI-enabled machines to detect problems in diagnosis, reduce human error and costs,” Khan Sir said, adding that automation and smart systems can bridge the gap between affordability and quality in India’s healthcare sector.
The educator noted that expensive diagnostic tests often prevent timely medical intervention, especially for economically weaker sections. By offering essential services at nominal rates, he hopes to encourage people to seek medical attention early rather than delaying treatment due to financial constraints.
Healthcare experts have welcomed the initiative as a bold experiment that could inspire similar low-cost healthcare models if implemented successfully. However, some have also stressed the importance of maintaining regulatory standards, quality control, and proper oversight when using AI-driven systems in medical diagnosis.
Khan Sir’s hospital project is still in its initial phase, but the announcement has sparked widespread discussion on the future of affordable healthcare in India, particularly the role of technology and socially driven leadership in addressing systemic gaps.
