Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone stresses quality execution, public participation and time-bound grievance redressal

SHOPIAN: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, on Tuesday presided over a Block Diwas at Chek Saidpora Ramnagri, aimed at strengthening participatory governance and ensuring effective delivery of public services at the grassroots level.
During the programme, the ADDC reviewed the progress of ongoing developmental projects in the block and stressed the need for quality execution of works, inter-departmental convergence and optimal utilisation of funds. He also emphasised the importance of creating public awareness about various flagship government schemes so that all eligible beneficiaries are covered in a timely manner.
Interacting with officers, Dr. Lone urged them to maintain regular field presence and adopt a people-centric approach while addressing public grievances. He reiterated that Block Diwas serves as a vital platform for direct interaction between the administration and citizens, helping bridge gaps and improve service delivery.
The ADDC patiently listened to issues raised by the public related to rural infrastructure, water supply, power, health and education services, road connectivity, installation of a mobile tower for better network connectivity, construction of an irrigation pump shed, upgradation of the Primary Health Centre, renovation of the primary school building, widening of the Sedow–Shopian road, construction of springs, functioning of the Chek Saidpora water supply scheme, desilting of the Khudpora–Amshipora irrigation khul, completion of the Rs 19 crore languishing Shah Khul project, PMAY cases and lifting of garbage.
Officers concerned were directed to examine the issues on priority and ensure transparent, accountable and time-bound redressal.
On the occasion, the Chief Horticulture Officer briefed the gathering about various horticulture welfare schemes and encouraged people to avail benefits meant for their socio-economic well-being.
The programme witnessed active participation of BDO Ramnagri, DDC Member Ramnagri, Shakeel Ahmed, officers from various departments and local residents.
