Ganderbal:
The Directorate of
Students Welfare (DSW) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today organised
a rafting event for the students of the varsity at Wusun Ganderbal.
About 35 students
participated in the rafting ride over a stretch of seven kilometres from Wusun
to Wayil over Nallah Sindh in the event held in collaboration with Adventure
Tour Operators of Kashmir.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof.
Mehraj-ud-Din Mir and Registrar Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar conveyed their good
wishes to the participating students on phone just before the start of the
ride. Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din Mir said that promoting sports activities is one of
the priorities of the University administration and assured full support to
DSW.
The event was flagged-off
by the DSW Director, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nika in the presence of Dr. Ashaq Hussain
Najar, Dr. John Babu and Mr. Muhammad Yousuf (representative ATOK).
Thriving and diving in
the roaring waters of Sindh, the students exhibited tremendous interest in
water sports and expressed satisfaction over the student friendly environment
they are enjoying at Central University of Kashmir.
Prior to this the
students visited College of Physical Education Ganderbal and interacted with
Dr. Hartej Singh, Principal of the College who underscored the importance of
physical exercises for good health.
