Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has called for a
complete shutdown on January 26, appealed people to observe the Republic
Day of India as a Black Day.
Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the
other Hurriyet leader urged the international community to come forward and use
its influence for resolving the long-pending Kashmir issue.
“Till this issue is not resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of
people of Jammu Kashmir, a lasting peace in South Asia would remain a distant
dream,” said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Terming Kashmir a nuclear flashpoint that could lead to unthinkable
destruction of the entire region, the Mirwaiz said an unresolved Kashmir issue
could anytime push the two nuclear neighbours towards a nuclear showdown.
Stressing upon understanding the seriousness of this issue Mirwaiz
said, besides the international community it was also the responsibility of the
leadership of India and Pakistan to involve the people of Kashmir in a
meaningful dialogue process to find an agreeable and durable solution of this
issue so that the dangers hovering over the region could be ended.
He urged the international community to take serious note of these
human rights violations and use its influence on New Delhi to stop committing
atrocities on Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the APHC comprising of senior APHC leaders
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Jaffar Kashmiri, Gulzar Ahmad, Showkat Ahmad and Ghulam
Ahmad Mir visited the Nayan Batapora, Pulwama residence of martyred youth

the people to observe black day on 26th January.

the world that for people in Kashmir India is an occupier that has enslaved us for
the past 7 decades.

India also as their rights have been snatched as well,” she added.
